“A,B,C easy as 1,2,3” some of you may remember young
Michael Jackson when he sang this song back in the day.
Well now there is a new crew of Jackson’s on the block
with their own spin on the AB,C’s. This time, it’s Kevin
and Lena Jackson, founders of K and L Edutainment.
Together they have created an inspiring, instructional
tool for learning the ABC’s.
Don’t think you’re going to find A is for Apple, and D is for Dog. Instead
you will find uplifting phrases written by Kevin and
trendy character illustrations by Lena.
“The Abc’s of Inspiration” teach valuable life lessons to
youth, such as:
“F – Faith will open doors that might seem closed.”
“T – Try your best every time and always try to improve.”
“N – Never doubt, never quit, and never give up on
yourself.”
“The book is not only a great inspirational tool but it
also serves as a wonderful coloring book,” said Lena. In
addition to the book, youth can sing along with the ABC’s
Rap, which is available on CD.
“It’s important for youth to hear positive things, lyrics
need to be stimulating. The purpose is to elevate,
hopefully making a difference,” said Kevin.
Kevin has over 20 years experience as a poet, songwriter,
and motivational speaker and author. In addition to
co-authoring “The ABC’s of Inspiration,” Kevin has written
two other books: “A Letter to my Daddy” and a poetry book
entitled “Deeper Thank My Skin Tone.” This talented poet
was also recently hired by Cheerwine to write a jingle for
its new product “Sundrop.”
Wife Lena is an accomplished cartoonist, fine artist,
performer, educator, and author. After studying Visual
Arts and Literature at Winston-Salem State University,
Lena has since dedicated over twelve years experience as a
professional artist. She has illustrated several
publications, worked with various celebrities and
organizations and has two books of her own: “Me, Tony C.
and 1973,” and “The Bohemian Café presents: The Spoken
Word Experience,” which is a mixture of poems, and comics.
Together the Jackson’s have participated in several
community related youth programs. They have spoken at
several school programs and were also instrumental in the
“Stay in School Tour.”
